A score of school districts cover the bulk of Pima County.
Almost a dozen are close to Tucson itself. See detailed PDF map of boundaries in the eastern half of the county. The most significant are Marana in the north-west, Vail in the south-east, and Tucson Unified in the middle.

Tertiary education[]
Tucson is home to the University of Arizona, a state-run land-grant university which provides many jobs and economic stimulus to the local economy.
Its distinctive "A" (which has had a colorful history in recent years) tops Sentinel Peak, west of the city, which is thereby nicknamed "A Mountain".
