[edit] Tertiary education
Tucson is home to the University of Arizona, a state-run land-grant university which provides many jobs and economic stimulus to the local economy.
Its distinctive "A" (which has had a colorful history in recent years) tops Sentinel Peak, west of the city, which is thereby nicknamed "A Mountain".
