Brisbane is a large city located in South-East Queesland as is the capitol of Queensland. It is very close to the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast and has a population of approximately 2.2 million people. It is situated around the meandering Brisbane River and Moreton Bay, with some population residing on the islands there. The climate is very hot, and it is a very popular international destination, with many visitors flowing through the busy, bustling Brisbane International Airport every day. It is a gateway to Queensland. The City has hosted the Commonwealth Games and the World Expo, in 1982 and 1988 respectivly.
